The famous Shaolin Butterfly Palms
Many Shaolin students think mistakenly that there are little or no felling techniques in Shaolin Kungfu. Actually there are more Shaolin felling techniques than in any other martial arts. All the throws in Judo and Wrestling, for example, can be found in Shaolin. Combat Sequences 13 to 16 deal with felling techniques. In this series, backward throws are used, and are executed with the Shaolin pattern “Fell Tree with Roots”. Its counter also demonstrates the sophistication of the Unicorn Step and Butterfly Palms.
