BRINGING LIFE AND EXCITEMENT WITH APPROPRIATE MUSIC
The Lion Dance music of our school is very rich. This was due much to the effort of Grandmaster Wong's sidai, Ng Yew Choe, in the early 1970s. He tape-recorded and studied the Lion Dance music of many schools, and added lively music patterns to the original Lion Dance music taught by Uncle Righteousness.
In the 1980s when Grandmaster Wong was very active teaching Lion Dance, he further enriched the Lion Dance music introduced by Lee Yew Choe. To help students learn the Lion Dance music more easily, Grandmaster Wong analyzed the music into comprehensible units and beats, instead of letting students learn by listening and following as it had been taught in the past.
