BOTTOM AND SIDE ATTACKS AND THEIR COUNTERS
There are some noticable differences between Choe Family Wing Choon we practice in our school and popular styles of Wing Choon many people practice today. One of which is the target of attack. Many Wing Choon practitioners today focus on top and middle attacks, and seldom use bottom and side attacks.
Bottom and side attacks are frequently used in Choe Family Wing Choon. If other factors were equal, it is advantageous to use side attacks against opponents who are powerful, and bottom attacks against opponents who are tall. Even amongst ordinary opponents, side attacks and bottom attacks often come as a surprise, especially if you have conditioned them to frontal top and middle attacks.
