IN-GATE AND OUT-GATE IN DEFENCE

In a Boxer's strike is far off, you would have to defend from inside-out
Take note of the different effects between deflecting a Boxer's strikes via the out-gate or the in-gate. If you use the out-gate, which means you deflect an attack from outside in, you can cover the Boxer and prevents him from continuing further attacks. If you use the in-gate, which is deflecting from inside out, you may open yourself to his further attacks. However, if his attack is too far aside, you may have to use the in-gate.
