STYLIZING TYPICAL MUAY THAI ATTACKS INTO A SEQUENCE

Taijiquan, Tai Chi Chuan

Don't block a Muay Thai knee jab; deflect it

Muay Thai attacks never come in isolation; they always come in a sequence. This is a main reason why Muay Thai fighters are formidable. We shall stylize a Muay Thai sequence into four techniques -- tap, strike, elbow and knee -- and learn to counter them progressively from Point 4 to Point 1. At Point 4, do not block a Muay Thai knee jab; deflect it. You must also simultaneously release the grip on your neck using an upward "threading" hand.
