The sword was the choice weapon of kungfu knights, or xia, in the past to the extend that they were known as jian xia, or sword-nights. Unlike knights in Europe, a kungfu knight was not one bestowed by an emperor, but acknowledged by the public for his high moral values and combat efficiency.
