DEFENCE AGAINST TOP STRIKE
Strikes may be classified into top, middle, low and sides, which are left and right. The video here concerns top strikes.
Practice the two patterns carefully, paying attention to correctness of form. Please note that the two patterns, "Golden Dragon Plays with Water" for defence, and "Poisonous Snake Shoots Venom" for attack, are representative of top attacks.
When you are familiar with the response to a top attack, leaving aside fine points of differences, you can respond correctly and spontaneously to any top attack.
Initially use Level 1, (the three levels are explained here), then gradually proceed to Level 3.
After about a month of daily practice, you should response spontaneously and fast to any top attack.
