SAN ZHAN OF WUZUQUAN OR THREE BATTLES OF FIVE-ANCESTOR KUNGFU
When I first practiced Wuzuquan about 50 years ago, I thought San Zhan was to train internal force, as all my classmates had tremendous internal force. Much later I discovered that San Zhan could be used to counter any attacks, yes, any attacks, irrespective of whether they are strikes, kicks, felling or gripping. It is no wonder that San Zhan is the fundamental kungfu set of Wuzuquan.
You should practice the set, not just learn it, daily for at least 3 months. You must be fully relaxed. Pay careful attention to the stances and the hand-forms.
